Extremely smooth rope passage even when under load<\/b><\/h2>\n

As soon as you pull the line above the device, the SpiderJack turns from blocking into self-tending position. Thumb brake allows for precise control of speed<\/b><\/h2>\n

With practice the unique thumb brake will allow very precise control of the rope\u2019s running speed. Trained experts really enjoy the SpiderJack\u2019s induced high-speed precision landings. The brake pad is made of Pock Wood (guaiacum), a very hard wood, oustandingly friction resistant and extremely durable.<\/p>\n

Abrasion bolt<\/b><\/h2>\n

The body of the SpiderJack 2.1 provides a so-called abrasion bolt hidden in the rope duct. It has to be renewed if the device starts to slip on the rope under load, even if a new clutch had been installed. In this phase, the outlines of the exposed precision ground abrasion bolt are showing. The newly installed abrasion bolt is clearly protruding. Every SpiderJack 2.1 is shipped with an extra abrasion bolt! The existence of the abrasion bolt in the SpiderJack 2.1 is indicated by the number 1. So only a SpiderJack with the addition 2.1 provides such an abrasion bolt.<\/p>\n

Pock wood<\/b><\/h2>\n

The SpiderJack brake-lever is made from pock wood, an especially hard and oily wood. Most of the precious pock wood comes from Central America, traded only under strict legal control. Its botanical name is Guajacum. Depending on its geopgraphical origins, Guajacum carries additional names like \u201ccoulteri\u201d (Mexico) or \u201cofficinale\u201d (Antilles). In Europe the name \u201cpock wood\u201d derives from the times, when its resin was used in the fight against pox. Because of its high proportion of oil and its great density, pock wood is a well known natural product featuring an outstanding abrasion resistance. Even the drive shafts of steam ships were mounted on pock wood. It is well known, wood is a poor conductor of heat, even more so with pock wood. So naturally, controlling a rope with the SpiderJack\u2019s pock wood brake conducts very little heat.<\/p>\n
